Meshed empowers municipalities with smart city ICT infrastructure

Meshed, an Internet of Things (IoT) integrator, helps cities build their own IoT networks and provides end-to-end solutions for smart cities, energy and water management, environmental monitoring and intelligent asset management.

By harnessing enabling communications and technologies, Meshed provides relevant, accurate and real-time intelligence to city managers and businesses for better decision making. These solutions are being developed using open standard technologies and collaborative data models.

Meshed was selected to deploy a public access low-powered, long-range and low-bandwidth wireless network for Ipswich City Council. This was developed using the LoRaWAN open standard technology.

Meshed is supporting the rollout of smart infrastructure across various precincts within Ipswich City that collect data in real time to enable the city to better manage its assets. Sensors are connected via proximity networks to capture data across various platforms and systems.

Meshed’s solutions have been deployed in six of Australia’s largest cities and regions including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Wollongong.

As one of the largest deployments of its kind in Australia, this project includes:

  • Water, waste and lighting management
  • Predictive and automated precinct maintenance
  • Solar energy, integrated batteries and microgrid technology
  • Video analytics for ‘Safe City’ and traffic management
  • User engagement and urban furniture
  • Edge tier, sensor network and public WiFi capabilities, data platform and analytics.
