Kym is Senior Trade Commissioner Sub-Saharan Africa based in Johannesburg. He leads Australian Government activities across Africa in the promotion of trade, investment and education with a team of 8 business development staff in Johannesburg, Accra, Nairobi and Port Louis. Prior to this position, Kym was Senior Trade Commissioner and Consul General based in Sao Paulo.
Before joining the Australian Trade Commission in 2009, Kym spent 12 years as the Managing Director of a private investment and consulting company with business interests in Australia, Brazil, China, Russia, USA and central Europe.
Kym has also held Senior Executive Service positions in the Industry Ministry of the Australian Federal Government, served on the Boards of companies and government organisations and has worked at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris.
Kym has a B.Sc (Hons) and commenced his working career as a medical physicist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He speaks English and Portuguese.
