Naïla was appointed Consul-General Milan and Trade and Investment Commissioner for Italy, the Czech Republic and Israel in 2020. She previously served as Trade Commissioner in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Prior to joining Austrade, she served in the Western Australian Government in Perth and London. She was responsible for advancing industry development through partnerships as well as attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors. She also worked in project management and marketing roles in the Victorian Government.

Prior to joining the public sector, Naïla worked in public relations, marketing and project management roles at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the United Nations in Italy, a marketing communications and public relations firm in Melbourne and a private trade strategy consulting firm in Japan.

Naïla holds a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Melbourne and undergraduate degrees in Arts (Public Relations and French) and International Relations from Bond University.
